Meniere's Home Manual
Meniere's Makeover for Your Home

Purpose of This Manual

Coping with Ménière’s Disease and other vestibular disorders that affect balance and hearing loss may prove to be a major task at home. The goal of this manual is to offer personal tips on how to use a combination of common sense and basic technology to manage your household effectively and safely.

Throughout this manual, you will find information and resources on a variety of topics that will make your life a little easier and increase your independence and self confidence. These are only suggestions. You will need to glean from them the ones that apply to your personal situation. It is important to make an assessment of your home and personal support system and develop your own ways to manage day-to-day activities that fit within your lifestyle, budget, and schedule. Do not be afraid to ask for help and develop a good support team to assist you.

We’ve Been There

Wherever you live, you are not alone. Volunteers from around the world have experienced first hand how difficult it is to find help and accurate information about Ménière’s Disease, and they are here to help you.

This manual has been written in a team effort by people with a combination of vestibular disorders, symptoms, and triggers. It is based on their years of personal experiences and struggles to cope with Ménière’s Disease, Migraine Associated Vertigo, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, Superior Canal Dehiscence, and other vestibular disorders.
