I've been a photographer all my life, but took 19 years to develop what's been hiding inside.  When I look through the camera's lens, I see a different world, one that is waiting to be captured and to be shared with others.  PattyD. Redeker

David Armstrong grew up in the music ministry and business.  His parents were both private music instructors and operated a music store.  They also traveled in music ministry.

David was a concert piano tuner for 22 years before Meniere’s disease and hyperacusis caused him to resign his career.  He is currently a Music Pastor but sees the conclusion to that chapter of his life as his ability to conduct music deteriorates due to the Meniere’s Disease,Hyperacusis, and Migraine Associated Vertigo.

David has developed a desire and love to help the deaf.  He has established Homeland Deaf Ministries and Homeland Deaf Prison Ministries.

David has a second CD project started that will be released in the spring.  It will be a CD of piano and guitar music for relaxation and meditation.

 Why I Paint

I paint because I don't know how to paint.

The process of painting engages me, draws me in.  A puzzle of sorts but the rules are self imposed, the approaches numerous.  The goal is elusive and undefined.

Painting is about making decisions.  Decisions about things like color, surface, shape edge, value, texture and their relationship to each other.

Painting is an extensionn of the self, about choices based on what feels right, almost instinctually.

When I paint I think about these things and try to paint as honestly and sincerely as I can.

I don't try to say anything in a painting.  I believe that any message I have is intimately tied to the process of painting and who I am.  I maintain faith that a painting can speak for itself.
